Patient Blood Management Guidelines

The National Blood Authority of Australia has developed a comprehensive, evidence-based, set of Patient Blood Management Guidelines.

 Module 1 Patient Blood Management Guidelines

The first in a series of six evidence-based guidelines was approved by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) on 12 November 2010, and released on 1 March 2011.

 Module 2 Patient Blood Management Guidelines

The second in a series of six evidence-based guidelines was approved by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) on 15 November 2011, and released 9 March 2012. 

 Module 3

The third in a series of six evidence-based guidelines was approved by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) on 18 July 2012, and released on 19 September 2012. 

 Module 4

The fourth in a series of six evidence-based guidelines was approved by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) on 14 December 2012, and released on 5 April 2013. 

NBA Module 5

The fifth in a series of six evidence-based guidelines, the Obstetrics and Maternity module was approved by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) on 22 December 2014, and released on 23 March 2015.

Module 6 - Neonatal and PaediatricsThe final in a series of six evidence-based guidelines, the Neonatal and Paediatrics module’s recommendation were approved by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) on 21 March 2016. The module was released on 29 April 2016.
