O Dr. Isbister MBBS, BSc(Med), FRACP, FRCPA trabalha no Royal North Shore Hospital desde 1980, tendo sido chefe do departamento de hematologia e medicina transfusional de 1982 a 1996 e Diretor da Medicina Transfusional de 1997 a 2002. \u00c9 ex-presidente imediato da Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Australiana e Neozelandesa de Af\u00e9rese e foi presidente do 8\u00ba congresso da Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Mundial de Af\u00e9rese, realizado em Perth em 2000. Faz parte do conselho editorial da Transfusion and Apheresis Science.
